In which I cross post and advertise

I am a proud member of The Monkey Barn, and posted something there today that might shock some of you.

My Deadly Sin Score. (dun dun duuuuuun!)

Which is a direct ripoff from
Rick's site (and hey, Rick, we got the same score!), which I'm sure he "borrowed" from someone else, and so on and so on and so on.

No matter - good clean fun deserves to be perpetuated, and the knowledge gained therefrom should be disseminated far and wide for the common good.

(An aside - The same goes for fun that's not necessarily clean, but you won't find that here, because, as has been said before, we're keeping it clean for the kiddies.)

I dont' usually cross-post to stuff I've done on other sites, but figured that if I tease you with something like how I'm doing on covering the seven deadly sins, then you'd rush right over to check out my overall level of soul squalor first and stay for the rest of the goodies. Things like "where's Hell?" (like I would know with my pathetic score) and "what IS a river midget anyhow?" and "who has the most beautiful body of 2006"?

You know, CLEAN stuff like that. For the kiddies.

It's all there. Go, enjoy, then come back and tell me what YOUR deadly sin score is.

Note - new motto!!! Thanks Q, for bringing it up on such a personal level.

New fabulous word you MUST know:

nudiustertian (nu-di-uhs-TUR-shuhn) adjective

Of or relating to the day before yesterday.

[From Latin nudius tertius, literally, today is the third day.]

I have one last question for y'all, then I have to go tend to the riptide of work that's flooding around my office, threatening to wash me overboard in a surge of deadlines (way to go Tiff! Create and then beat a metaphor to death!!):

Are any of you perfectionists?

If so, how do you deal with the pressure to always be right, to always be complete, to always do everything the absolute BEST IT CAN BE DONE?

Isn't that a lot of stress? How do you deal with it?

FYI - This question has NOTHING to do with any of YOU, so don't worry that I think that maybe one (or more!) of y'all has issues, because I'm sure you DON'T, but maybe, if you are a tiny little bit perfectionistic (or more!), you'd let me know how you handle the drive to be the best at anything you choose to do.

I'm in your debt if you do, because I'm stumped on something and need your help.

I used to be the office perfectionist, but found it to be a lost cause. I am now demanding to be called 'The Queen of All that Be'. I am still waiting for my door tag.

I try my best to be the office cut up [within reason] and just try to make people laugh. Even if it's a 'Lord, she's ODD' laugh. It beats rigidity any day.

Oh, and if you could see my kitchen table right now, you wouldn't even ASK about perfectionism!

[If you DO see it, please tell me. I've been looking for it for MONTHS!]

renn - clean kitchen tables mean you're not having enough fun!

I "borrowed" the sin quiz directly from it's source 'cuz I was too tired to get creative. Isn't that what everybody does? If you're lucky, I'll share "What Kind of Rocker are You?" one of these days.

No need to be a perfectionist when you're already perfect. Your milage (definition) may vary.

I procastinate. That's how I deal with perfectionism. Not the best, least stressful way. But that's why I go to the gym.

My chance of going to hell is 34% based mostly on sloth. I'd tell you the rest, but I'm too damn lazy. :-)

I couldn't get it to work.

I am a perfectionist when it comes to work but that is all. It sucks because I won't take off work at all because I want things to be so perfect. I don't really get frustrated, I just take over.

I grew up thinking I had to be perfect in order to be loved by my mom, who brooked NO mistakes at all. I still like to be right - and perceived as the best at things, but I am not as hard on myself as I used to be.

rick - dude, I so TOTALLY want to know what kind of rocker you are!!!

mmm3 - I'm right there with you.

de R- you're kidding, right? You seem like a beehive of activity!

Carrie - shoot - the blogthings are fun, sorry you missed out. "I really don't get frustrated, I just take over" - boy I know that feelng.

kenju - oooh, that smarts about your mom, because it's my SON who's the perfectionist here, and it's got me mystified as to how to cool his jets a little... I like to be right too - don't we all?

When Nooze gets compulsive and perfection oriented, I make her sing songs about flicking boogers on her ceiling.

To the tune of "My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean".

Oddly, that seems to do the trick.

Y'know I thought I stayed reasonably busy - got some things accomplished. But nope, this extremely scientific and accurate test assured me that I'm on the road to being a stunt double for Jabba the Hutt. Good to know. ;-)
